Ah yes, the players. The great and the good. The bad and the bloody terrible. Trying to
categorize them is always going to end in tears, but we've had a stab at it with our
ever-growing list of
the legends,
the greats,
the under-rated and
the over-rated.
There are some fantastic player awards out there, with some great previous winners to
reminisce over in the likes of
the Ballon d'Or award,
and its South American equivalent
the Rey del Futbol de America.
If you want some of the lesser known awards from the emerging nations try the
African Player of the Year,
or the
Oceania Player of the Year.
And if you want a who's who of cult footballers, check out the
Belgian Golden Shoe.
It may not sound too appealing, but you'll eat your words when you see the quality
of players who've won it.
