Their can only be one winner for the team of the year - Iraq. With their country torn apart by war, their
achievement in winning the 2007 Asia Cup was nothing short of phenomenal. Ranked 81st in the year at the start of
the year, they topped the much fancied Aussies in the group stages before disposing of hosts Vietnam, South Korea
and finally Saudi Arabia, with captain Younis Mahmoud's late winner sparking much needed scenes of joy back in their
homeland.
Second place goes to Scotland for giving France and Italy the fright of their lives in the Euro qualifiers and
proving to England that this game is about creating a team, rather than a collection of individuals,
whilst Sevilla get our nod for 3rd place as their gung-ho approach made them our favourite team to watch.
