Cup competitions eh ? Aren't they great ? The minnows, the giant killers, the sloping pitches, every dog has his day and all that. But its true, that's what makes the cups so special - on the day anything can happen. And this is one of the many things that makes football so much better than other sports. On their day, a lower league team, on some godforsaken field of mud, with a buzzing home crowd behind them (and a bit of luck), can take on and beat the best. Something that just wouldn't happen in other sports, where the proverbial cricket score would be on the cards.
