The Might Boosh Series 3 (TV) |
|
No middle ground with this - it's definitely one that you either love or hate. We're in the love camp. Particularly enjoyed
Vince and Howard confronting Lance and Harold, their doppelgangers, and taking them on in a crimp-off, the
finale of which was the never tried before 4-way crimp. Genius.

Fonejacker (TV) |
Great stuff, the classic old method of winding up hapless members
of the public is always good for a laugh, and fonejackers is no
exception. Particularly enjoyed the car salesman wind-up, which

Inside Sport (TV) |
|
The Beeb's new late night sports programme with Gabby Logan. Worth watching just for the
excellent Steve Bunce, who, as anyone who has listened to him before, particulalry on
Fighting Talk, is top entertainment.

The Peep Show (C4) |
|
Our favourite current sitcom continues. It's doubtful whether any episode will manage to top the opener where
Jeremy and Mark 'help' his prospective father in law burn down the neighbour's barn. The neighbour who is
sleeping with said father in laws wife, who has also slept with Jeremy. As funny as any sitcom produced
this decade, Peep Show shows no sign's of flagging in its 4th series. One minor criticism has been the
lack of any Super Hans appearances thus far. If this isn't making any sense at all, start buying the DVD's.
|
Dead Ringers (BBC2) |
|
As always with this show there are some great laugh-out-loud moments. At least 75% of it
is top notch stuff.

Harry Hill's TV Burp (TV) |
|
It's on at a mad time, but if you can remember to record it or see the repeats then you're in
for some treats. The 'Australian Princess' show with Paul Burrell was particularly hilarious.

|
Life on Mars (TV) |
|
The retro-cop show is just about the best thing on tv.
|
Top Gear (TV) |
|
A welcome return for Clarkson, Hammond et al, but a bit hit and miss (ahem) so far compared to the
last series. However, the episode in America was top notch - one of the best things they've done,
as was the rocket-powered Robin Reliant.
|
Hancock's Half-Time (TV) |
|
One of this month's shows, with Rodney Marsh and Stan Collymore as the guests was an
absolute belter. Our opinion of Marsh has now totally changed. The guy at least tells it like
it is.
Considering the blandness of some of these so-called pundits we're definitely starting to
warm to him.
There was a great quote from him when discussing Craig Bellamy: "you know that when you sign
him you're signing a little toe-rag". Quality stuff. And the bit where he relayed a question
from Daley Thompson to Stan Collymore "Do you think you wasted your career?" deserves a mention
as well.

|
Mock the Week January (TV) |
|
Dara o Briain and Frankie Boyle are consistantly funny, genuine laugh-out-loud stuff.
We also like the way that each week they seem to have one really un-funny person on it.
Is this done on purpose ? to make the others seem even funnier ?

|
Peep Show Series 3 (DVD) |
| Particularly the episode involving the weekend break to the country, lost on the moors
and Super Hans' attempting to go cold turkey. |
The Ashes (TV) |
|
Did we not like that. What a debacle of a start.
|
Lost Series 3 (TV) |
|
Quality first episode, seeing the Others enjoying a leisurely Sunday afternoon before the plane crashes.
|
Strutter (TV) |
|
Airing Sunday nights on MTV, for anyone who's not seen Mike Strutter in action
then check him out as he commentates on bizarre clips and sketches. Be warned though...
if you dont like your tv shows served up with more than the odd profanity,
then you might be best giving it a miss.
|
Father Ted Box Box Set (DVD) |
|
Fubbin' marvellous.
|
Hancock's Half Time (TV) |
|
Cult viewing. The guests are quality, the whole show seems to give off the image that
it doesn't really give a damn what's said, which makes it different to the conservative
content served up on some of the mainstream footy shows.
|
Revisita La Liga (TV) |
|
Does life get any better than settling down on a Sunday night to watch a game from La Liga
with a few bottles of San Miguel in the fridge ? Probably. But not in this country.
|
Gazzetta Football Italia (TV) |
|
No offence to Bravo, but why is James Richardson stuck away on Sky channel 121.
He's the best football presenter by a country mile. Quite why he's not on one of the main
channels is about as mysterious as Mystery Island.
And to make things worst Gazetta is about to be canned. Grrr.

Dead Mans Shoes (TV) |
|
The Shane Meadows classic is bloody terrifying. Derbyshire's quaint old market towns will never have quite the same appeal.

October 2006
|
That Mitchell and Webb Look (TV) |
|
Some great sketches from the Peep Show boys, with a tip of the hat to Numberwang (particularly
the revolving contestants) and Sir Digby (pure Viz).
|
Extras Series 2 (TV) |
|
Different feel to the 1st series, but still some top notch comedy moments, mainly involving
Barry from Eastenders and Stephen Merchant's agent character.

Father Ted (TV) |

the scene in the bathroom - what a gem.

Count Arthur Strong (Radio) |
|
Ok, so its not TV, but we've not got a radio section, so what the hell. This has to be one
of the top comedy characters going at the moment.
A favourite of Mark Radcliffe, surely the Count
and his inane ramblings deserve a slot on prime time tv.

Hustle (TV) |

As easy-going-BBC-evening-viewing goes, this is not too bad.
Infinitely better than the ITV alternative "When celebrity neighbours from hell go bad".

Greenwing (TV) |

2nd series of the surreal hospital-based comedy. Not as good as the 1st series.

The IT Crowd (TV) |

New Graham Linehan sitcom. And whilst its not a patch on Father Ted they're were s
some really funny bits, especially in the Red Door episode.

The Mighty Boosh |

The Nightmare of Milky Joe. Fantastically surreal.
