Just to prove that London doesn't have the sole rights to comical logo designs, we've unearthed
some crackers from South America, as we list the
Copa America mascots.

Praise to the lord high above! Sven Goran Eriksson looks like he might become
the new manager at Manchester City. What a perfect gift to those out there who
write poor quality rubbish on the internet in a vain attempt to be
semi-humorous. People like us in other words. We do have a soft spot for City at
MD for their reputation for lovable music hall comedy. Thanks to their new
chairman, that well known member of the fit and proper person club, Thaksin
Shinawatra, Eriksson is mulling over a lucrative contract offer. On a less
flippant note, it has to be said that Eriksson was a pretty good club manager
and could bring some gravitas to an increasingly desperate club. Even Sven can
surely organise a team to score more than 10 home goals in a season. Let's just
hope it happens. It will be fun.

Another desperate penalty shoot out defeat for England, this time the Under 21's crashing out of the
European Championships semi-finals against host nation Holland thanks to a 13:12 defeat. Stuart Pearce's
continuos penalty training has obviously worked, and the idea to stick with a previously decided player
order seemed so simple, and nearly worked a treat. Now we need to concentrate on the goalkeepers -
Shilton, Seaman, Robinson, and now Carson. All seemingly invisible to the player taking the penalty.
Time to call in Grobelaar or Dudek as specialist penalty coach.

Reverend and the Makers: Heavyweight Champion of the World (Single) |
Another fine Sheffield band. A mint single that will surely earn the Reverend thousands from
royalties when played as background music for boxing promotions up and down the country.

| From the International Leagues |
| Name: | Ryan Babel |
| Country: | Holland |
| Club: | Ajax (Holland) |
| Age: | 20 (19-12-1986) |
| Position: | Left Winger |
| |
| |
| |
| |
| |
First came to prominence for Ajax in the 2004-05 season after notching 7 goals in 21 games,
aged just 18. His electrifying pace and skills also saw him capped by the Dutch national team
towards the end of that season, and he's well on his way to 20 caps already, with a handful
of goals under his belt as well. Despite the great pace and power, he's been criticized for
his final ball, something of a problem for a winger, although he's also been used to fine
effect as a striker. Constantly linked with Arsenal, he's just penned a new 3 year deal at
the start of 2007, although that really means nothing nowadays when all that crazy Premiership
money is being wafted around the noses of foreign chairmen and agents.

| From the British Leagues |
| Name: | Lee Frecklington |
| Country: | Republic of Ireland |
| Club: | Lincoln City |
| Age: | 21 (08-09-1985) |
| Position: | Central Midfield |
| |
| |
| |
| |
| |
The 2006-07 season saw Frecklington play a key role in Lincoln's promotion challenge. A ball
playing midfielder, he also loves to get forward and support the front meny, and his sneaky
runs into the box brought him 10 goals during the season, not a bad return for a midfielder.
His eye-catching performances during the campaign saw him make the official League Two
'Team of the Year' and he was consistently linked to a number of Premiership and Championship
teams. Despite being born in Lincoln he has opted to represent the Republic of Ireland, and
played for their B team at the start of the season.
