The best football stuff from last month... |
Liverpool 3:3 West Ham - Surely one of the best FA Cup Finals ever.
It had everything, but Gerrard's piledriver in the last few seconds of normal time had to
be the highlight.
|
Italian football is left shocked, well, no, apparently not everyone is shocked, after key
officials from Juventus are implicated in match fixing probes surrounding the Turin club.
The allegations put a dampener on the team's celebrations following their 2nd title win
in a row just a week before the shock news breaks.
|
Boro 0:4 Sevilla - no last minute comeback's for Mclaren's men this time as they are
thumped by a top notch Sevilla side.
|
Barcelona 2:1 Arsenal - Barca come from behind to beat a battling Arsenal 2:1. Having had
Jens Lehmann sent off, the Gunners play with only 10 men for 72 minutes and even take the lead,
but cant hold on as Larsson comes off the bench to turn the game the Catalans way.

Crouchy does his robot dance after his goal against Hungary.

What we listened to last month... |
The Futureheads: News And Tributes (Album) |
|
Inventive 2nd album. Standout song: "The Return of the Berserkers".
|
The Longcut: A Call And Response (Album) |
|
Another decent Manc band. Standout tracks are "Holy Funk" and the stomping good "A Quiet Life"

|
TV stuff from last month... |
Count Arthur Strong (Radio) |
|
Ok, so its not TV, but we've not got a radio section, so what the hell. This has to be one
of the top comedy characters going at the moment.
A favourite of Mark Radcliffe, surely the Count
and his inane ramblings deserve a slot on prime time tv.

|
Films we watched last month... |
The New World |
|
Visually excellent but overall not as good as some people have made out.
Lets just say its not one to get the heart pumping.

|
Books we read last month... |
Football Heroes |
|
This book is mint. A must have for any fans of the old sticker albums, its been described
as like looking at a Panini album whilst under the influence. Which is pretty much spot on.
Have a look at it here...

Made a big impact for River since making his debut last year. Became a firm favourite after
scoring a brace against deadly rivals Boca. River have reportedly sold 50% of his contract to
investment group MSI. He has all the attributes required for a top player - big and strong, but
agile and with an eye for goal. Holds a French passport as he was born there whilst his
Argentinian dad was playing in France. He recently turned down the chance to join Argentina's
U20 squad in order to keep his options open.

| From the British Leagues |
| Name: | Gareth Bale |

| Club: | Southampton |
| Age: | 16 (16-07-1989) |

A member of the youth team that reached the 2005 FA Youth Cup final,
Bale became Southampton's 2nd youngest ever player (behind Theo Walcott) when he made his
debut in April against Millwall.
A month later, he became the youngest ever Welsh international when he made his debut
against Trinidad and Tobago. A dead-ball specialist, Bale has a fantastic left foot
and loves to get forward.
